I am Rebecca Chepkemoi, a young Kenyan Female 25- years of age. I’m thrilled to share why am passionate about environmental sustainability and why am excited to apply for this fellowship. Growing up in a small community in Kenya made me deeply connected to the environment die to the challenges we were facing of using charcoal and firewood as a source of domestic energy. This sparkled my determination to make a positive impact that resulted to my greatest achievement, starting a Community Based Organization. Ocean Youths Innovators aims to unite young minds to transform the ecosystem through innovations by creating a workable solution towards climate change. This has been a platform for innovation, action and collaboration to addressing environmental and social issues in our region.
