Ms. Matshediso is an accomplished Analytical Chemist, holding a Master of Science (MSc) degree from the University of Witwatersrand, where she conducted groundbreaking research on extracting essential compounds from the Moringa Oleifera plant. Her academic journey began at the University of Botswana, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Biology. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctoral degree at the University of South Africa.
During her MSc studies, Ms. Matshediso discovered the nutrient-rich properties of Moringa Oleifera and its immense potential to combat malnutrition and address various health challenges. Inspired by her findings and the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, she made a commitment to apply her scientific expertise for the betterment of humanity. She embarked on a mission to transform natural resources into innovative products. This vision led to the establishment of Phatsima Innovations, a company dedicated to the value addition of natural resources. By doing so, the company contributes to global sustainability goals such as SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), improving lives while fostering local innovation.
