Omar Ibn Abdillah is an economist and economic intelligence specialist with over eleven years of experience across Francophone Africa and the Indian Ocean region. He is the Founder and Executive Director of INVEA, a pan-African consortium of experts advising governments, institutions and private actors on sustainable investment, institutional development and ecosystem building. Since 2025 he has served as President of L'Afrique des Idées, a pan-African think tank he joined in 2014.
His work rests on a single conviction: Africa's transformation depends on strong local private sectors, mobilised African expertise, and institutions rooted in African realities rather than transplanted models. He has trained more than 15,000 people across 15+ countries and accumulated over 2,400 hours of facilitation.
Omar holds an Executive MBA from the École de Guerre Économique (Paris). He is an alumnus of the Mandela Washington Fellowship and the Obama Foundation Leaders Programme, a member of the AfCFTA Youth Advisory Board, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, and an African Union Youth Ambassador. He works between Africa and Europe and is based in Switzerland.
