However, due to increasing gun violence, my family decided it was time to leave Haiti to seek a safer life in America. My father stayed behind to financially support us.
Moving to America was a challenging experience for me. The language barrier caused me to fail the first grade, and I struggled to adapt to the new environment. However, I found solace in sports, anime, and technology. These hobbies allowed me to express myself and find joy despite the difficulties of adjusting to a new country.
My mother worked tirelessly to support me and my sister, but I could see the struggles she faced every day. This inspired me to work hard and always strive to make my mother proud. I knew that my family's struggles were not unique and that many others in my community faced similar challenges.
