I am a young lady interested in seeing that girls and young women are:
1. Living a life free of gender-based violence under DREAMS programming, I have seen 1000+ AGYW trained in IMpower sessions. The sessions teach AGYW both verbal and physical strategies in preventing sexual assault and other forms of GBV.
2. Living an empowered life both economically and socially so that they are able to negotiate a safe sex with their partners. With DREAMS programming, I have been involved in screening and selecting more than 700+ girls into learning basic money making skills like welding etc.
3. Living a life full of knowledge on family planning in order of avoiding teenager and unplanned pregnancies. With DREAMS programing, I have been involved in the distribution of both male and female condoms to 7000+ AGYW in the period between 2020-2023.
4. A Life free from HIV/AIDS by advocating for usage of STIs prevention like condom usage and prevention of HIV through PrEP usage. With DREAMS programming, I have helped to refer 200+ AGYW to access PrEP for prevention of HIV spread.
5. Advancing academically so that they empowered to compete even in male dominated industries like engineering. I have helped in screening and identifying 100+ AGYW to be referred to bursary programmes in secondary education and vocational schools.
In doing this work, I have worked with YONECO and MACRO as an ambassador for Adolescent Girls Young Women (AGYW)
