Dear Entrepreneur,
As an entrepreneur, ensure you build your personal brand. Your brand is what people think of when they hear your name, what they say about you when you’re not in the room, or how you make them feel when they see you.
Like everything that is to be built, you need a strong foundation to build it on. You need to build a strong foundation on which your brand will stand tall. This involves building a venture that will change people’s lives and add value to them. This is done behind the cameras and takes a lot of time, with a lot of ups and downs. With more downs than ups.
Then ask yourself, “What kind of people do I want to know me?” What’s your target audience? Are they entrepreneurs like you, young professionals, creatives, policymakers, or techies? Only when you know this, will you be able to establish a personal brand for yourself. Because, if you don’t know where you’re going to, then you can never get there. And if you don’t know the kind of people that you want to know you, then you cannot be known to them.
Finally, you have to create a visibility strategy. This is your path or medium of getting known. Do you want to leverage on social media, professional publications, blog guest posts, or public speaking? The choice is yours.
With love,
Chidi
