Running a business is much like playing a game—there are rules and there are strategies.
Everybody knows the rules because it’s basically the same—”Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out”, but everybody has to develop their own strategies and tactics—which oftentimes, we have to learn the hard way.
Reading business books will only get us so far, but if we really want to outperform our competitors, then we have to drop the books sometimes and learn from real-world experiences—that’s how we figure out what works for us, and what doesn’t.
We gain confidence from winning, and we gain wisdom from losing.
The only constant thing is that we gain something when we try, regardless of the result. And over time, with the lessons learned, we develop our own unique way of playing the game of business.
