Dear Entrepreneur,
No matter how successful you are as an entrepreneur, there is always going to be that voice in your head telling you “You can’t do it”.
You can’t do it because you have kids and you can’t afford to take risks.
You can’t do it because you don’t have the money.
You can’t do it because you live in the wrong country.
You can’t do it because you don’t have a university degree.
You can’t do it because… [the list never ends.]
What’s the problem with this voice? It gives you excuses to defend why you haven’t achieved what you desire. The truth is that you have an infinite capacity to make everything right, but this voice makes you believe that you’re right to be in the position you’re in. It’s bribing you to believe that you should be right, rather than happy. But the truth is that you’re wrong.
Identifying this voice is the first step to defeating it. Try to imagine all that this voice is costing you. Now, make a decision not to listen to it anymore, because it’s not only negative but limiting as well. Try to revert to your childhood dreams, when the world hasn’t subjected you to drop your standards. Now, pursue that dream, as if the world owes it to you.
Even if you fail to achieve it, you’ll be far away from where you are right now.
With love,
Chidi
